The City of Aswan was our main stop over in the south of Egypt. There was a lot of activity on the water in this section of the country. That may be because it was 15-20 degrees hotter here than in the north. We took an Egyptian boat (a felucca ) to Lord Kitchener’s Botanical Gardens located on an island of the Nile. Our boat captain decided to crash his vessel right into the stone dock…I was less than impressed with his seamanship.

In middle of this dessert terrain we found an island lush in plants and trees of all varieties. After our tour group reluctantly got back aboard our felucca, we headed back to our Cruise ship to gather our things. From here it was back to Cairo for a day and so ended our journey.
