We started our 2nd tour of the day by having lunch at the Mena House. It's an old palace that has been converted into an upscale hotel and restaurant. Then we took our bus up to the plateau itself. I was awe struck as soon as the Great Pyramids came into view. We began at the smallest of the 3 pyramids. It was open to the public, so we were able to journey 30 meters down to the burial chamber.

Next it was onto the Solar Boat Museum at the base of the largest pyramid. Recently archeologists discovered 2 large boats buried at Giza. They were used to carry the PharaohÂ’s mummy. Finally it was time to meet the "Big Man". The sphinx was not what I expected at all. Time has not been kind to this monument. After a quick camel ride, we quit for the day
