Today was all about Temples. We docked at the City of Luxor and began at Karnak Temple . The shear size of this place was amazingÂ…it just kept on going. It was constructed by generations of Pharaohs over a 2000 year period. We saw the large Great Obelisks built by Queen Hatshepsut.
Then it was onto the Luxor Temple. It is known for its Grand Columades, large statues and Avenue of Sphinxes. The columns were so tall they seemed to touch the sky. They whole structure was once covered in bright colors, I can only imagine the site.
That night we returned to Karnak for a light and sound show. Think of it as an outdoor IMAX film that you can walk through.
