We came to the island to see a temple dedicated to Isis. Actually this entire temple had to be moved stone by stone to escape being covered by water when the Aswan High Dam was built. As with many of the temples in Egypt it was completely covered with carvings. There were actually to sections of the temple, one that resembled Edfu, the other with columns that looked like Karnak.

As always there were plenty of street salesman and roadside stands trying to hock us their wares. One thing about the trip I really enjoyed was all the bargaining you had to do with the vendors. By the end of the trip I had the upper hand and got some great deals. Egyptians love the good ole' american "green back"
