The Valley of the Kings holds the pharaohs tombs that were carved into the side of a mountain. The workmanship that went into their construction and decoration was impressive. We visited the tombs of Setti I and Ramesses II. We took the opportunity to visit the Tut's Tomb…an experience of a lifetime One word…WOW! The tomb has been preserved and looks similar to when Carter first discovered it in the 20's.

Next we journeyed to the Valley of the Queens and visited the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut. Architecturally it was very modern and unlike anything we saw while in Egypt. It is being restored, so most of the temple was closed. On our way back to the boat we stopped at the Colossus of Memnon. They were located in the middle of a corn field and a little rundown from years of decay.
