Luray Caverns Luray Caverns are located in Virginia which required a great mountain drive from Maryland in my Subaru Legacy to get there. I really didn't know what to expect, but literally from the moment you walk down into the caverns you are in another world. They are a natural formation and were discoverd by accident in the late 1800's. They've pretty much been a tourist attraction ever since, but manage to still look pristine.
